Not everyone can make a donation or help others in this moment of need but all of us can help to save lives by raising awareness. There are 4 things that all of us can do.
- Wash your hands
- Social Distancing
- Stay Home
- Share the Message
Our biggest danger is that people do not comply with the guidance and regulations from the government and the World Health Organisation.
Unfortunately there is still a lot of ignorance about WHY it is important to adhere to lockdown or other rules and the adage “if you know better, you can do better” holds. This is where each of us can contribute to saving lives.
How you can save lives by spending 10 Mins a day on Social Media
The more we all comply with the guidance and regulations, the more lives will be saved.
Compliance = Saved Lives / Awareness = Compliance
Introducing the #10MinsaDay to save lives challenge
We are inviting everyone to join this challenge. It is our belief that if each of us spend 10 mins everyday on our Social Media to share awareness tools, then we can have a major impact on compliance and thus saving lives.
Here are the steps you need to take:
STEP 1:
Add the #flattenthecurve Profile pic, Social Media covers etc. to your Social channels below. If you do this then with every message you send or comment you make, people see the message and are reminded. More here.
STEP 2:
Join the 10 Minutes a Day – Facebook Group here
You can join the conversation and share tips and hints on how to get through this difficult time. The group can also be used to identify needs and to collaborate with others. Share information that you find relevant and important for people to know. No Spam, be kind and share.
We also need moderators for the group – So if you want to participate -then message group admin.
STEP 3:
Involve the family
It is important to involve your kids in these efforts. Not only does it keep them busy but they will also feel that they are contributing to our effort to fight Corona and to save lives.
- Hello Mr. President, an initiative from Moms for Hope is a great way to involve your kids.
- Details here – Hello Mr. President – Moms of Hope Encourage Children to write to Cyril Ramaphosa to keep a flame of hope alive
- Join the Maker Movement to assist with masks, ventilators etc – COVID-19 Assistance – Maker Spaces are aggregating signup forms, links and resources for South Africa Maker volunteers
STEP 4:
Practice what you preach
- Wash your hands
- Social Distancing
- Stay Home
- Share the Message
If you spend just 10 mins a day on your social media with the above, you will be making a great contribution to the fight against Covid19 and saving lives.
