About Zevenwacht
The name Zevenwacht exemplifies the abundant delights which await visitors to the Farm such as the panoramic views of Table Mountain, Table Bay and False Bay.
The name “Zevenwacht”, derived from the Dutch “Seven Expectations” is a modern wine farm with a 300 year history.
Zevenwacht is a family owned and managed Estate. Harold and Denise Johnson purchased the farm in 1992, and are committed to a programme of development to realise Zevenwacht’s rich potential beyond wine production. There is a strong commitment to historic and cultural preservation, as well as the active socio-economic upliftment of the Zevenwacht workers and their families.

Hagen Viljoen is the Cellar Master with over 12 years’ experience gained in both new- and old-world wine regions internationally and in South Africa.
Zevenwacht are sold across South Africa, Europe and the USA.
Biodiversity and Conservation
Zevenwacht is a member of the Biodiversity & Wine initiative (BWI). this is a partnership between the South African wine industry and Nature Conservation.
Primary goals are the protection of the ecology, the protection of biodiversity, including the preservation and rehabilitation of indigenous vegetation, the extermination of aliens and the responsible use of land. To this extent we conserve some 80 hectares of fynbos to the Renosterveld Bottelary Hills Conservancy, while 100 hectares is responsibly used for grape growing.
