About Ilse Ruthford
A wife, mother of two daughters with a passion for women upliftment, Ilse Ruthford is truly a success story. She is a graduate of Business in Wine from the UCT School of Business and has worked in the wine industry for over 20 years ago, Working her way up the ladder, Ilse become the Managing Director of Compagniesdrift since the doors opened in 2010.
Ilse has received a number of industry awards, such as the DAFF Female Entrepreneur National and Provincial Winner for Agri-Processing.

With a long history of investing in their workforce through the Meerlust Foundation they wanted to build on this tradition. This culminated in a R45 million business venture with 50/50 joint ownership.
The companies involved, MWT Investments and Faure AgriVillage, are jointly owned (50% each) by the Myburgh Family Trust and the Meerlust Workers Trust, which is comprised of 72 people with long-standing relationships with the Meerlust, Vriesenhof and Ken Forrester farms in the area.
The two companies which conduct commercial farming as well as business ventures in partnership with Meerlust.

About Compagniersdrift Wine
The range of wines under the Compagniesdrift label were introduced in 2015 and are marketed and sold in local and international retail outlets.
The range includes an unwooded chardonnay, chardonnay pinot noir blend, an off-dry white muscat and a barrel-matured cabernet sauvignon merlot blend.
