About L’Avenir Estate
Situated four kilometres from Stellenbosch on the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, L’Avenir is a unique boutique winery which gained recognition for its distinctive Pinotage and Chenin Blanc. In 2005, L’Avenir was acquired by the owner of the prestigious Chablis property, Laroche, Chablisien Michel Laroche.
In 2007 the current winemaker Dirk Coetzee joined the farm and was instrumental in shifting the focus to L’Avenir’s top performing single vineyards – resulting in the now famous L’Avenir Single Block range. In 2012, the Laroche and JeanJean families combined forces to create Advini, which marked the start of a new era for L’Avenir, as it joined a family of some of the most acclaimed and awarded wines in the world. L’Avenir’s elegant tasting room was inspired by the flair and sophistication of French bistro culture where guests can either enjoy a glass of Pinotage in front of the cosy Cellardoor fireplace, or a refreshing glass of Chenin Blanc in the tranquil countryside setting of the gardens next to the farm’s lake.
The L’Avenir Country Lodge
The Country Lodge is an intimate, 4-star lodge located on the L’Avenir working wine estate, just minutes from Stellenbosch. The features of the Country Lodge includes a rim-flow pool which overlooks the lakes. Guests enjoy home-cooked breakfast on the deck, complimentary wine tasting, mountain biking and trail running trails through the vineyards.

L’Avenir is a family village, with eleven houses for workers and their families. The estate not only supports these families in terms of accommodation and education, but also with medical services and support.
With its strong emphasis on empowerment, L’Avenir (which means the future in French) is specifically committed to the future generations of the people of L’Avenir. The estate started collaborating with Pebbles Project in 2004 and provides day care and after school facilities for all the children on the farm, as well as children from neighbouring properties.
