About Landskroon
The winemaking tradition at Landskroon dates back to the 17th century when the French Huguenot settlers came to the Cape. Jacques de Villiers, a winemaker from Niort in France was one of the settlers and in 1874. his great-grandson Paul, bought a portion of the original Landskroon farm that had been granted to a free burger by Governor Simon van der Stel in 1692.
In 1974 the first wine was bottled on the estate and marketed under the Landskroon label.
Landskroon, which is more than 300 hectares, is privately owned and managed by the families of brothers Paul and Hugo de Villiers. The current winemaker, Paul de Villiers and Abraham van Heerden is the fifth generation to carry on this proud tradition at Landskroon. Follow Landskroon on Facebook.

Enjoy a picnic at Landskroon. Find out more about “bring your own” picnics from the Tasting Room, you will be rewarded with a stunning view over the vineyards and the farm towards Table Mountain. A self catering cottage is also available for anyone wishing to spend some time at Landskroon.
