South Africa has remained on Alert Level 3 after an address by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday 11 January 2020
While acknowledging the need for stricter regulations this is another devastating blow to the wine industry (amongst many other affected industries).⠀
👉 The sale of alcohol from retail outlets is not permitted.
👉 Bars, taverns, shebeens and nightclubs are closed to the public.
👉 Restaurants remain open but must close by 20h00.
👉 Nationwide curfew is now 21h00 to 05h00.
👉 All indoor and outdoor gatherings will be prohibited except for funerals.
👉 On-site consumption of alcohol is not permitted.
👉 Wineries are not allowed to conduct tastings or sell wine.
⠀
The transport of wine for export purposes is still allowed. These measures will be in place until 15 February, at which time they will be reviewed.
